Position Overview: ANSER is seeking an Operational Research Analyst Task Lead to provide support to the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters (ODASD/NM) on Nuclear Surety and Exercise Programs . Responsibilities: Specifically, the analyst will provide support and technical advice on: * Review and update the nuclear weapon systems surety program and incorporating modifications to OSD policies and procedures to defend against an evolving threat environment. * Develop guidance and methodologies for and in anticipation of the development of threat, vulnerability and risk assessments within the DoD and U.S. nuclear enterprise with the coordination and collaboration with NNSA and NRC as needed. * Research, review, and develop policy interpretations for Military Departments requests for clarification of OSD policies and procedures. * Review safety studies and assessments providing recommendations. * throughout the year and other support as delineated in DoD Directive and DoD Manual 3150.02. This will include evaluating, coordinating, and supporting USD(A&S) approval of Military Departments Weapon System Safety Rules. * Provide analysis research and program support for nuclear weapons and materials, including special nuclear materials, transportation guidance and execution of movements for DoD and Interagency and International partners. * Develop materials, providing technical support and coordination for meetings, and conferences as required, including attending, recording, and summarizing the results of the meetings or conferences. * Provide ad-hoc support evaluating, coordinating, and supporting USD(A&S) approval of Military Departments Weapon System Safety Rules. Qualifications: * Active Top Secret (TS) clearance; able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI * Bachelors degree in international affairs/relations, security studies, or similar related discipline * Demonstrated six years of relevant experience * Proven analytical work in a high-visibility and high-tempo office setting. * Experience drafting technically oriented documents for senior policy decision makers on highly classified and complex scientific, engineering, and technical topics and subjects. * Excellent writing skills and in-depth knowledge of editorial principles and techniques * Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat . HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: * Demonstrated experience working in an Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)/Joint Staff/Service Staff/Interagency environment. * In-depth knowledge of nuclear weapons systems and operations, nuclear weapons physical security and safety expertise, and/or international nuclear cooperation programs expertise. * Experience developing materials, providing support and coordination for DoD Force-on-Force exercise planning meetings, DoD Force-on-Force exercise execution, and FBI Tabletop exercise planning meetings and conferences is a plus.
