Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Floater to provide flexible, on-demand ABA support to high-needs students in a classroom setting. This role involves assisting multiple students and staff as needed, implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs), supporting academic and social engagement, and ensuring a structured, supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative, and skilled in behavior management and reinforcement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Behavioral Support & Intervention:
· Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to reduce problem behaviors and promote skill development.
· Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation using evidence-based strategies.
· Provide reinforcement techniques to increase engagement and participation.
Academic & Social Support:
· Support students during academic tasks, adjusting prompts and assistance based on individual needs.
· Facilitate social skills practice and peer interactions to foster positive relationships.
· Encourage functional communication, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods such as gestures, facial expressions, visual schedules, and communication boards.
Flexibility & Collaboration:
· Float between students and classrooms, stepping in where support is most needed throughout the day.
· Assist teachers and paraprofessionals with behavior management, classroom transitions, and engagement strategies.
· Collaborate with BCBAs, teachers, and therapists to ensure consistency in interventions and student support.
Data Collection & Reporting:
· Document student progress, behaviors, and interventions in alignment with treatment goals.
· Collect ABC (Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence) data to assist in refining intervention strategies.
· Communicate observations and insights to the BCBA and school team for ongoing support planning.
Qualifications & Skills
· Active RBT certification (required).
· Experience working with students with autism and other developmental disabilities, preferably in a school setting.
· Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies, ABA principles, and crisis management techniques.
· Strong adaptability and the ability to respond quickly to shifting student and classroom needs.
· Excellent collaboration and communication skills with BCBAs, educators, and school staff.
· Experience with AAC and functional communication (preferred).
