Job Description

Aramark is seeking an experienced Facilities General Manager to lead all facilities operations supporting the Manchester School District in Manchester, NH. This executive-level leadership role oversees custodial services, building maintenance, and grounds operations across a K-12 public school system.

 

The Facilities General Manager is responsible for overall operational performance, financial accountability, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction. This leader partners directly with district administrators to ensure safe, clean, and fully operational learning environments while driving efficiency, service quality, and continuous improvement across multiple sites.

 

This role is ideal for a proven facilities operations leader with strong experience in K-12 school facilities management, contract services, and multi-site leadership.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for custodial, maintenance, and grounds operations across the school district

  • Lead and develop managers, supervisors, and frontline facilities teams

  • Serve as the primary operational contact for district leadership and community stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and environmental standards

  • Oversee execution of preventive maintenance programs and service quality standards

  • Drive operational performance through labor planning, productivity management, and process improvement

  • Manage full financial responsibility including budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and P&L performance

  • Interpret and execute contractual requirements while identifying opportunities to improve service delivery

  • Maintain high safety standards and ensure adherence to Aramark policies and Business Conduct standards

  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional development

Qualifications

In order to be prepared for this leadership role, qualified candidates will possess:

  • Proven experience leading custodial, grounds, and maintenance teams within a K-12 school district

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities management, contract services, or institutional operations

  • Bachelor?s degree in Facilities Management, Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred

  • Strong financial acumen including experience managing departmental budgets and operational controls

  • Experience leading through managers in a multi-site environment

  • Ability to interpret and manage service contracts effectively

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements and service excellence

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
