Are you passionate about cutting-edge technology and eager to work on innovative projects? At Areté, we are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in the research, design, development, and testing of a wide range of advanced electronic systems.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Design and Development: Create and refine electronic subsystems that support high-performance electro-optic sensors, including advanced imaging systems, LIDAR, SONAR, and motion control solutions.
• System Integration: Lead the development and testing of control and processing systems utilizing FPGAs, GPUs, embedded processors, and computers. Your hands-on experience with high-speed data paths, memory storage subsystems, and DSPs will be crucial.
• Power Electronics: Design power electronics that function reliably in harsh environments, utilizing a variety of power modules, integrated circuits, and discrete components.
• Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and integration of electronic systems, ensuring they meet functional requirements.
• Technical Expertise: Apply your knowledge of FPGA and microprocessor coding and debugging techniques to support system implementation and integration.
• Collaboration and Communication: Prepare and present technical briefings to both internal teams and external customers. You will also contribute to new and existing technical and cost proposals.

This position is based out of Tucson, AZ and is an exempt full-time role.

Experiences and Background We Look For

• 7+ years Electrical Engineering experience with BS/BA in Computer/Electronic Engineering.
• Hands on experience designing complex, high speed, low noise circuit boards
• System architecture design experience including data acquisition, FPGA, and processor strategies for high speed data transfer and storage
• Demonstrated track record with high performance digital systems
• Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and formal presentation capabilities.
• Ability to produce professional documentation and presentations with Microsoft Office products

Nice to have

• 12+ years Electrical Engineering experience with BS/BA in Computer/Electronic Engineering
• Experience with motion control systems, particularly stabilized pointing solutions
• Experience with Altium Designer including schematic design and PCB layout
• Experience with Xilinx products and tool chain
• Software programming skills such as C/C++, Python, Matlab
• Current security clearance is highly desired -- TS preferred

The salary range for this role is $145,000 to $165,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
