Job Type Full-time Description What You'll Do: As our Linux System Administrator, you will be joining a mission-critical DoD program within NAVAIR's PMA-205 (Naval Aviation Training Systems and Ranges). In tandem with other NAVAIR program offices, PMA-205 is fielding a sophisticated Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) training system that has the potential to revolutionize the way the Navy trains, leading to greater readiness and significant cost savings. In this role you will be responsible for the following: * Implementing operating system and network device security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides
* Administering boundary devices (e.g., managed switches, proxy servers, routers, firewalls, cryptography, and intrusion detection systems)
* Performing vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated Benchmarks
* Correcting flaws and implementing technical controls in the hardware or software installed within a network environmentDue to the classified nature of this work, this position is not eligible for remote or telework. Requirements The following education, skills, and experience are essential: * Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems Management from an ABET-accredited institution or IA/CS technology field, in lieu of degree, 5 years experience as an IT technician on DoD classified networks is acceptable.As the Linux Administrator, you will have at least 5 years of experience with the following: * Managing DoD Linux-based systems and implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides
