About the Role

We are seeking an FSQA Technician to join our team at our Ancaster bakery. As an FSQA Technician, you will be accountable for conducting food-safety and quality sampling, testing, and verification activities, and completing documentation required to meet Aspire Bakeries’ Integrated Management System Program (AIMS) requirements. This role plays a key part in maintaining product integrity, regulatory compliance, and quality standards.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Continental Rotation
  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Weekend availability: Required
  • Assignment Duration: Temporary – 19 months

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $30.14

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Conduct chemical, physical, and microbiological testing on ingredients, in-process materials, and finished products
  • Record analytical results, production KPIs, and process data in required databases, spreadsheets, and systems
  • Monitor product quality and support continuous-improvement efforts through audits and root-cause analysis
  • Participate in quality and cost-reduction projects, supporting the production team with technical insights
  • Execute environmental monitoring programs, including ATP and hygiene assessments
  • Ensure adherence to GMPs, HACCP, allergen control, and food-safety standards across assigned areas
  • Support safe work practices by following all environmental, health, and safety procedures

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, human ecology, or related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in the food industry (bakery experience preferred)
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to follow laboratory procedures, record accurate data, and interpret testing results
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in manufacturing environments
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and food-safety systems
  • Experience working in SAP
  • Experience performing ATP and environmental swabbing
  • Ability to train others in quality procedures and documentation
