We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician III for the Redstone Test and Engineering Services contract, supporting the ARmy Division. JOB DETAILS LOCATION: Redstone Arsenal, AL JOB STATUS: Full-Time TRAVEL: None REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS * 5 years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization: * or 2 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 3 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty. * Mechanical - At least 4 years of the 5 years' experience must include successful completion of 1 year of vocational/military/technical school training in practical or industrial arts. * A minimum of 2 years of mechanical fabrication and structural/fixture setup supporting engineering or testing of military hardware. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants) DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS * 2yr Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) in either of the following: * Aerospace Technology - Welding * Aerospace Technology - Structures & Assembly * Industrial Maintenance - Mechanical * Class A CDL with hazmat endorsement * Welding experience RESPONSIBILITIES * Support mechanical operations in and around test stands and fixtures * Operate and maintain equipment for test support * LPART (Liquid-Propellant-Action-Response-Team) certified or ability to obtain once hired * Comprehend various test setups and lead the mechanical responsibilities while following applicable standard operating procedures * Operate forklifts from Class VII and below, mobile and overhead crane, and other similar equipment What We Offer * Competitive salaries * Continuing education assistance * Professional development allotment * Multiple healthcare benefits packages * 401K with employer matching * Paid time off (PTO) along with a federally recognized holiday schedule Who We Are At Astrion, we innovate, elevate, and shape the world of tomorrow.
