Job Requisition ID #24WD81092Position OverviewWe are seeking a enterprise architect to become an integral part of our Data and Insights Service team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building the systems and services that power the data infrastructure of Autodesk's existing and future platforms. This opportunity is for you if you have passion for the design of complex systems architectures and are excited by the idea of transforming how our customers use data to capture knowledge, inform decisions, and deliver projects.As an Enterprise Architect in Autodesk's Global Delivery and Solutions Data team, you will be at the forefront of designing the next generation of data capabilities for the Autodesk Industry Cloud. You'll collaborate with software architects from the world's foremost applications for designing and constructing buildings and infrastructure, including Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Inventor the Autodesk Construction Cloud, Fusion and Forma. You'll define the software architecture that reimagines how AEC and MFG data (e.g. 3D models, 2D drawings, issue tracking, cost, sensor streams, etc.) is stored and exchanged between teams, companies, and applications. Your leadership will foster the creation of the data infrastructure which will help the industry to create a better, more sustainable world.This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager Solution Engineering. The position can be hybrid or remote with a preference for candidates in Portland, OR, Denver, CO or United States or Canada from Pacific to Eastern time zones.ResponsibilitiesIdentify and analyze data requirements to meet the needs of Autodesk's AEC/MFG product data infrastructureWill be responsible for guiding teams to implement thread modelling best practices into architectureWill be responsible for guiding and implementing procedures and best practices for SOC2 certificationWill be responsible for building resiliency in the Data and Insight serviceShape the components, relationships, and governing principles that define the architecture of our AEC/MFG data & Insight systemsDesign, document, and support implementation of complex system architectures, databases, and processing systems by defining data services and APIs, data models/schemas, event streamsCollaborate with other software architects and disciplines to develop strategic solutions to handle complex problems and specify systems interactions with Autodesk's AEC/MFG products & servicesCreate trustworthy technology by ensuring the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications and architecturesArticulate and collaborate on proposed software designs using views, diagrams, etc.Maintain and apply expert-level, up-to-date knowledge of relevant architectural patterns and technologiesWork with peers throughout Autodesk to understand our technology landscape and challenges, articulate opportunities, and promote changeLead re-use of platform capabilities and drive contributions to the Autodesk platformExplain and present technical topics to varied audiences, including senior leadershipLead the end-to-end design, implementation, and management of SOC2 compliance across our data and insights platformsDevelop and maintain the architecture roadmap that aligns with business goals, ensuring security and compliance are integrated into the design of data systemsEstablish and enforce data governance policies that ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across the organizationIdentify and mitigate security risks in data handling, processing, and storage. Implement best practices to protect sensitive informationWork closely with IT, data teams, and business stakeholders to ensure that security measures align with business objectives and regulatory requirementsStay updated on the latest SOC2 standards, security trends, and technologies. Proactively recommend improvements to existing systems and processesMaintain comprehensive documentation of architecture designs, security controls, and compliance measures. Prepare and present reports to senior managementMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent experience10+ years of experience as a Software Architect or similar role in data-intensive cloud environmentsMinimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise architecture with a focus on SOC2 compliance and data-oriented systemsExperience with cloud services, database architecture, AI/ML, big data tools, and frameworksStrong understanding of data management and data processing principlesExperience in implementing SOC2 process and data security principlesExcellent knowledge of software and application design and architectureMastery of taking complex ideas and conveying them in a concise and impactful mannerExcellent verbal, written communication, and presentation abilities to effectively communicate software architecture strategy to a variety of stakeholdersAbility to collaborate with a global team and travel for work 5-10 times per yearPreferred QualificationsExperience in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction  and/or Manufacturing industryAn advanced degree in computer scienceRelevant certifications such as TOGAF, CISSP, CISM, or SOC2-related credentials are highly desirableAn industry expert in and contributor to software architecture practice#LI-DNILearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $134,800 and $218,020. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
