This innovation is happening across our flagship products—AutoCAD, Revit, and Construction Cloud—and Forma, our new Industry Cloud.As a Machine Learning Engineer on the AEC Solutions team, you will join a team of technologists to help build foundation models and generative AI tools for the AEC industry. You will work collaboratively to create and interpret design data that can enhance design and engineering workflows.You will report to the Senior AI Development Manager in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Solutions Team.Location: We support hybrid work, and you work near our Boston, Massachusetts or Toronto, Canada offices.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with other engineers to develop data pipelines and architectures, and support tasks related to data collection, storage, processing, and analysisWrite code for model training, testing, and deploymentMonitor and troubleshoot machine learning models to ensure accuracy and performancePerform requirements analysis, working with team members of different levels and documenting solutionsWork with large-scale data sets and manage data flow between systemsOrganize and process large batches of text and geometric dataCommunicate your findings through quantitative data analysis and qualitative visuals and insightsMinimum QualificationsA MS in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field3+ years of experience in machine learning engineering or related fieldDomain expertise in training deep neural nets, such as CNN and transformers and proficiency in least one deep learning framework, for example PyTorch, TensorFlowStrong fundamentals in 3D geometry and geometric computer visionExposure to Cloud Computing in AWS and using the SageMaker Studio platformGood understanding of fundamental CS algorithms and their scaling behaviorsGood coding skills covering procedural and data-analytics oriented languages (such as Python)Able to translate theoretical concepts into practical solutions and prototype implementationsPreferred QualificationsBackground in Architecture, Engineering, or ConstructionPractical experience in data preparation, hyper-parameter selection; acceleration techniques; and optimization methodsExposure to cloud computing in AWS, Azure or Google CloudExperience in parallel distribution of algorithms using platforms such as Spark or HadoopPractical experience developing high scale machine learning algorithmsIdeal CandidateYou are passionate about solving problems for AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) customers by applying machine learning techniquesYou are comfortable working in newly forming ambiguous areas where learning and adaptability are key skillsYou easily collaborate with others and are comfortable with minimal directionYou are constantly striving to learn new technologies and methodologiesYou seek new ways to solve hard problemsYou are unafraid to put your ideas out there and fail fastLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $146,900 and $237,600. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
