Job Summary
The Surgical Technician (non-certified) is responsible for functioning as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures. Follows established protocols for cleaning, decontaminating, preparing and packaging, disinfecting or sterilizing and storing medical and surgical supplies and equipment.
Education and/or Experience
- Technical Degree required.
- Graduate from a surgical technology program accredited through ARC/STSA in collaboration with the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Graduate of a Nursing Program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Associates Degree preferred.
- One to two years’ experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRST) – certification within six months of employment required.
- Basic Life Support certification (BLS) within 30 days of employment required.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) within one year of employment preferred.
Work Schedule
- Monday-Friday, primarily eight-hour day shifts, 48 hours every 2 weeks
- Start time varies based on case load
- Weekend on-call rotation, once every five weekends
- Holiday on-call rotation
- On Call one night per week
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
