Job Summary




  • Under the direction and supervision of the Operative Services Director is directly responsible for performing circulating and/or scrub nurse duties in the Operating Room; for providing nursing care to patients preoperatively, perioperatively, and postoperatively in support of care directed by the surgeon.

  • Provide other assistance as required to the surgical team; and for acting in any nursing capacity as directed by the Operating Room Director and Coordinator.

  • All nursing care functions/responsibilities are based on the ANA standards

  • Adheres to the Nursing Code of Ethics, Avera’s Mission and Avera’s Service Excellence Standards.



Education and/or Experience




  • Graduate of Registered Nursing Education program.

  • 3 years of experience required.



Licensure/Certification/Registration




  • Minimum of one year experience in operating room nursing is preferred.

  • Participates in educational conferences, and updates and maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.

  • Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.

  • BLS required.



Work Schedule




  • Hours:


    • Position requires 72 hours worked in a six-week schedule equating to 624 hours annually, not exceeding 1248 hours in a 12-month period.

    • Six weekends required annually.





Pay




  • Flat Rate pay of $50.00 per hour
