Role Summary:
The Imagery Analyst will apply geospatial knowledge on how to acquire, analyze, compile, and disseminate raster-based information and intelligence to populate and update geospatial databases and create Geospatial Intelligence products. A successful applicant will be able to apply geospatial and imagery analysis techniques using a Geographic Information System to convey certain types of products that are dependent upon various customer needs while being precise enough to pass appropriate Quality Control process within an appointed time frame. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to referencing source materials, updating and/or creating new vector data or geospatial database entries, producing finished imagery products such as maps, and charts, successfully submitting work through the QA/QC process, and meeting deadlines. Work Location: NGA Offices Springfield, VA • Travel up to 15% of the time Responsibilities:
• Exploiting and analyzing commercial and National Technical Means (NTM) imagery, creating a variety of products to customer standards
• Exploiting and analyzing a variety of image sensor types including SAR, EO, LiDAR, MSI, HSI and IR to produce a variety of products to customer standards
• Using available imagery, supporting intel disciplines as well as other source data stores to exploit, identify, monitor, analyze existing / emerging trends, dynamic events, to solve intelligence problems
• Using available imagery and supporting information to analyze, extract vector features, or produce imagery products to meet a variety of customer needs
• Following standard operating procedures and checklists, establishes and applies basic tradecraft skills
• Fusing multiple sources of information into key findings, and geo-temporal pattern-of-life analysis
• Work with minimal oversight while setting goals, multi-tasking, and meeting personal and organizational deadlines • Assist/mentor/train junior level personnel in developing tradecraft skill to meet work objectives Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in geography, remote sensing, or imagery analysis or military equivalent; Additional experience can be substituted for education
• Two years of practical work experience exploiting NTM imagery
• Have one year experience writing technical products, reports, and briefs
• Formal military analysis training completion or equivalent civilian Remote Sensing Certification(s)
• Technical proficiency and understanding of GIS software packages (ESRI, SOCET GXP, RemoteView, and/or QGIS) • Proficiency with imagery analysis software packages such as ENVI or ERDAS.
• Proficiency with common office software packages to include MS Office Suite, or open source equivalents. • Familiarity with NTM GEOINT tasking and collections requirements mechanisms and tools
• Knowledge of soft copy exploitation functionalities Security Clearance Requirements:
• Existing TS/SCI • Ability to obtain and maintain a Counter-Intelligence (CI) Polygraph Competencies & Skills:
