Director of Human Resources

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the HR Director will serve as a member of Granite Recovery Centers (GRC) leadership team, collaborating to establish consistent, effective talent development systems and policies while always acting as a thought partner on ways in which our teams contribute to organizational goals. Serving as a leader to the HR team, the HR Director will need to think strategically to ensure the successful execution of day-to-day HR operations. This person will exercise sound judgment and excellent relationship-building skills in order to support the best in leadership development to build an internal culture that improves talent recruitment, engagement and retention practices and tools across the entire organization. Responsibilities:
  • Strong strategic and project management skills, including the flexibility and initiative required to prioritize, delegate, and contribute to the execution of a plan
  • High degree of discretion and judgment with proven success as a staff manager
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills, with the ability to support a diverse range of internal clients in a fast-paced, collaborative setting
  • Excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Oversees strategies and systems for all aspects of GRCs leadership and talent engagement and recruitment functions, including acquisition, onboarding, retention, engagement, development of leadership core competencies through performance management, compensation and benefits planning and administration, workplace safety, and employee relations
  • Review and redesign or establish consistent human resources policies and procedures
  • Ensure consistent and intentional hiring, coaching, and supervision, performance, and communication practices to improve retention and tenure of staff team across all departments
  • Create and manage the employee performance review process, providing ongoing support and feedback to all managers
  • Ensure the maintenance of all human resources record keeping systems to meet requirements for personnel, compliance, audit, workers compensation, insurance, and legal claims
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mediation to staff on the resolution of employee relations issues
  • Provide coaching to employees and managers on client relations issues
  • Strong understanding of fundamental Employment Law and compliance matters as set forth by the Department of Labor; keen understanding of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, and Workmans Compensation codes, rules, and standards
  • A sense of urgency and passion around our mission to provide compassionate care to facilitate positive, lasting change
  • Sensitivity to the experience of Granite Recovery Centers clients and direct-service staff
  • Must meet then maintain all pre-employment requirements which includes reference checks, applicable state, and national required background screening, 10 panel urine drug screen, DMV check, insurance (if applicable), and license/credential verifications
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field is required. MBA, MNA, MHR or equivalent degree/experience preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in human resources; experience managing across multiple locations necessary; healthcare industry preferred, but not necessary
  • Experience in the administration and relationship of multiple vendors including ExponentHR, ADP or similar HRIS and background check systems required; experience designing and implementing systems preferred
  • Prior experience in healthcare or health and human services, with understanding of DHHS, CARF, pre- and intra-employment compliance requirements preferred
