BELFOR is looking for experienced Carpenters. BELFOR team members are a unique breed, committed to restoring not only property but restoring lives for those affected by disasters, large or small. 

Pay is $28 to $35 per hour depending on experience!

Position Overview:

Flooding. Fires. Windstorms - Restoring more than our client's homes and businesses.  

BELFOR Property Restoration responds as need to rebuild residential and commercial properties. The right response team can mean the difference between recovery and total loss.  

With your attention to detail, customer service focus, and sense of urgency to meet timelines, your knowledge of applicable carpentry equipment and tools will provide operational and construction support on multiple projects. Working independently or within a team, your carpentry skills will support large and small projects, ensuring that all work meets BELFOR standards for safeguarding property on each project.

Duties:

• Develops and maintains positive working relationships and goodwill with property owners, property tenants, subcontractors, vendors, in-house employees, and any other involved parties. 

• Performs all levels of structural painting with quality workmanship and skills including but not limited to:

  1. Paint bases and proper uses for all the various surfaces and elements.
  2. Knowledge of tools and purpose to use and obtain desired results. 
  3. Proficient in application and techniques, texturing, blending, patchwork, cut-ins, etc.
  4. Drywalling, taping, and sanding. 

• Orders and delivers, if necessary, job materials. Returning any unused material for credit to company account. 

• Adheres to the budget of each job to prevent overspending and waste of labor and material costs.

• Monitors job sites to ensure high standards of material quality and workmanship. 

• Monitors job sites to ensure high safety and security standards, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and meeting internal regulations as well as OSHA regulations. 

• Maintains a safe and organized work area by performing job site clean-up throughout and at the end of the day.

• Assists Project Manager with obtaining and processing some required documents from the property owner and any other required entities and monitors the timeline of in-house workforce, subcontractors, and material order deliveries. 

• Directs communication from the property owners, property tenants, subcontractors, vendors, and any other involved parties to the Project Manager. 

• Assist restoration technicians, from time to time, on emergency jobs. 

• Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates. 

• Supervision of unskilled labor, Basic and Intermediate Level BELFOR employees, and the occasional sub-contractor in residential, commercial, multi-family, industrial, and institutional setting as well as High Risk/High exposure or complex projects. 

• Answer simple questions about the project and when to defer questions to more qualified personnel.

• Maintaining equipment used in daily tasks. 

• Perform emergency services as needed - - IE Board Ups, securing building against further damage.

• Additional other duties as required.

• As a 24/7/365 operation, the ability to work nights and weekends as requested and travel periodically.

• Become knowledgeable of each project to recognize problems while offering solutions and provide updates to leadership. 

• Move and protect contents without damage by constructing appropriate containment for construction dust, dirt, and airborne contaminant in working area. 

• Apply learned skills and materials knowledge relative to: 

  1. Trim, doors, cabinetry, floor cutting, salvaging and labeling baseboards, insulation, rough framing, acoustical ceilings, roofing materials, and exterior siding. 
  2. Construction of metal framed walls, acoustical ceilings, repair and replace roofing. 

• Develop ability to identify the different types of insulation. 

• Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and maintain them in a clean serviceable condition.
