At BlueHalo we provide a full suite of exquisite, space-qualified hardware trusted to fly in the most extreme environments space presents across GEO, MEO, LEO and Cislunar orbits. With hundreds of systems flying in space, our customers turn to BlueHalo when a mission can't fail. Our team is expanding to do the big things that have never been done before - the things the nation and the world are counting on us to deliver. Join the transformation and help us make this impact now! WHAT YOU WILL DO * Provide technical leadership to a multidisciplinary engineering team in the design, build, and qualification of new space-capable precision opto-mechanical and electronics systems. * Understand the big picture as well as fine details to make technical decisions, sometimes in situations in which a complete set of data is not available. Be responsible for technical systems engineering including architecture development, model-based systems engineering, requirements development, management and flow-down, integration, test, and transition to production. * Contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirement's Specifications, Interface Control Documents, System Integration Plans, and Test Plans. * Work closely with the Division Technical Director and Chief Engineer to drive innovation in product development, including advanced materials, analysis methods, and system architecture. * Work closely with the Program Chief Engineer and Program Manager to ensure a system is designed, built, integrated, and tested to meet all corporate objectives and satisfies customer/contractual requirements. * Be responsible for technical risk management including developing risk mitigation strategies and communicating those with internal and external stakeholders. * Act as key point of contact for technical communication with customers, both for existing programs and new work. * Be responsible for technical proposal development, including rallying team thoughts and feedback and turning them into cohesive documentation and proposal justification. * Ability to take all known information and develop a cohesive summary of existing progress and remaining work, including risks, concerns, and issues.
