Boston Ballet School is accepting applications for experienced Pianists/Accompanists to be a part of our team of musicians. This Part-Time hourly paid position would include playing ballet classes for the Company, Boston Ballet II (BBII), and our Graduate Program during the 2024-2025 Season. This position does not include playing for rehearsals or performances.

Requirements:

Advanced skills in ballet class accompanying
Excellent sight-reading skills
Ability to play for a wide range of ballet classes including technique, pointe, and male classes
Demonstrated ability to improvise in multiple styles and genres
Knowledge of standard ballet repertoire
Knowledge of ballet vocabulary and its role in score marking
Demonstrated ability to adapt orchestral/instrumental scores
Aptitude to collect, develop and adapt ballet class repertoire in connection with kinesthetic phrasing
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
