The successful candidate will work with a team to implement design and condition assessment of water, wastewater, and stormwater collection system facilities for large, complex municipalities across the United States.  In this role, the candidate will deal with complex issues, coordinate and interface with stakeholders, and manage comprehensive capital planning and engineering efforts.  The candidate will provide design and management support for multiple projects to ensure they move together toward meeting the overall program objectives and goals.  The successful candidate will have the ability to coordinate with engineers, stakeholders, contractors, and other parties in an enforcement environment, providing input and collaborating on decisions.  It is critical for the candidate to be a strong communicator and to be able to influence others to accomplish objectives in this role.Detailed Description:In this role, you will work closely with subject matter experts, project managers and other team leads locally and nationally to lead and execute work involving conventional types of civil engineering principles and other related activities for buried infrastructure projects. You will work on a variety of projects that may include assessments, planning, evaluation, design, and construction related activities for wastewater, water and stormwater conveyance systems. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:Manage and execute engineering work in various engineering aspects (wastewater, water, infrastructure, stormwater, construction management)Work with the program team in the planning, design, rehabilitation, and construction of large-scale water transmission and wastewater collection system facilities.Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and provide consultation in specialized areas related to pipeline condition assessment and rehabilitation, tunneling, etc. hydraulics, small to large diameter pipelinesLead teams to develop and prepare specifications, detailed design drawings, reports, planning, and engineering services during constructionConduct field investigations, perform condition assessment evaluations, assist with asset management and provide business consulting guidance to municipal clientsPerform technical research, and communicate and apply this knowledgeLead project teams in planning and/or designing a major engineering project and coordinate special planning, economic, and engineering studiesExecute activities on projects for master planning and modeling of water/wastewater/stormwater conveyance systemsTechnical and quality control review of study, planning and design documentsPrepare calculations, models and other technical deliverables for civil/utility, conveyance and infrastructure related projectsDevelop scope, schedule and budget for design work ordersDevelop proposals and presentations including project understanding and approaches, and level of effort estimatesPrepare and deliver presentations to clients and for professional meetingsSupervise, delegate and oversee the work of technical staff and engineersAssist with and lead business development pursuitsCoach and mentor junior engineers and designersCoordinate with project managers, client service managers, and other project personnel from other disciplines.Utilize internal project management tools and resources to provide successful management of large projects that meet or exceed the project success metricsDesired Skills and Experience:B.S. degree in related engineering field (Civil, Environmental etc.) required; M.S. degree in related engineering field with a focus on wastewater and water preferredMinimum of 10 years’ experience in environmental engineering and consulting industry, specifically in water/wastewater conveyance systems, with progressive responsibilities including project management, marketing and business developmentPE in Massachusetts, District of Columbia, Maryland, and/or Virginia, or ability to obtain one through reciprocity within 6 monthsExtensive experience in the planning, design, rehabilitation, and execution of large-scale collection system facilitiesA proven track record in the preparation of contract documents for collection system facilitiesExperience in developing hydraulic calculationsExperience in multijurisdictional interagency coordination to implement projectsExperience and knowledge of industry technology for the inspection and condition assessment of collection system assetsStrong design and other technical experience and skillsStrong planning experience through design and construction of large municipal and/or federal facilitiesAbility to be well organized, focusing on scope, budget and scheduleCandidate should be a self-starter, results-oriented, and enthusiasticAble to successfully manage and deliver on multiple tasks with competing prioritiesAble to provide consultation in specialized areas, make decisions and solve problemsHighly motivated self-starter with a passion to accomplish capital projectsValid driver’s license and good driving record requiredExcellent technical writing and communication skills required with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually, verbally, and in writing, across functions and teams, up and down the chain of commandStrong Microsoft Office skills required, particularly Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Previous supervisory or mentoring experience a plusSalary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.  These ranges may be modified in the future.Location B: $140,000- $191,000You can view which BC location applies to you here.
