JOB TITLE: BCo Hospitality and Sales Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

The Bundschu Company Hospitality and Sales Lead is a brand ambassador of all things Bundschu Co. and has a passion for wine knowledge, customer service, and our family heritage. The BCo Lead works closely with and provides support to the Senior Retail Manager & Tasting Room Managers and is responsible for assisting day-to-day operational duties as well as the development/implementation of experiences offered on property. The BCo Hospitality and Sales Lead also acts as wine educator and brand ambassador for both Gundlach Bundschu Winery & Abbot’s Passage Winery, hosting tastings, taking care of club members & VIP guests, and living and breathing both brands. Brand Ambassador, team leader & wine enthusiast. They will leads by example and exhibit exemplary customer service aptitude in all interactions.

DUTIES:

  • Wine Education – 60%
    1. Conducts wine tastings and educate guests about our wines, vineyards, and winemaking processes.
    2. Assist guests in selecting wines and making purchase decisions. Recognize that asking for the sale is a vital part of all hosting and guest interactions.
    3. Takes accountability for the achievement of retail goals, including wine sales, wine club sign-ups and data collection.
    4. Embodies the essence of good customer service in recognizing & anticipating guests’ needs
    5. Effectively engages with customers to build relationships & embody the Bundschu Co. brand
  • Leadership and Support – 40%
    1. Provides day-to-day operational assistance to Tasting Room Managers, including opening and closing duties for both Gundlach Bundschu & Abbot’s Passage tasting rooms. Tasks include reconciling daily sales, posting transactions, and sending end-of-day email.
    2. Supports with assigning team tasks, problem solving reservation & POS questions, and checking out team members at end of day.
    3. Supports with monitoring team performance, tracking sales successes and recording performance or professionalism incidents
    4. Assists with keeping hospitality spaces clean, organized and well-stocked
    5. Assists Tasting Room Managers with monthly inventory reconciliation of physical stock and the ordering of supplies/ wine inventory (as needed)
    6. Assists with data entry and customer management updates in our POS system (as needed)
    7. Assists Tasting Room managers in developing, implementing and keeping SOP’s in place.
    8. Meets regularly with Tasting Room Managers to communicate successes, challenges, and ideas for experience development and logistics
  • Communications & Brand Lead
    1. Acts as a Brand Ambassador for Bundschu Co. and leads by example. Provides day-to-day guidance to ensure that Retail & Hospitality staff operate according to professionalism standards and help implement company policies and culture.
    2. Accountability for achievement of retail goals, including sales, wine club sign-ups and data collection
    3. Exhibits excellent customer service skills while showing a genuine desire to help customers in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
    4. Establishes an atmosphere of teamwork and positive employee relations. Actively works to promote and recognize performance. Assists with training and direction to new staff.

  • Sales Excellence

    1. Embodies the essence of good customer service in recognizing & anticipating customers’ needs, be it guests, colleagues, vendors, etc.

  • POS system & reservation system proficiency
    1. Demonstrates a high level of problem solving & coachability in learning new POS and reservation systems (AMS & Tock)
    2. Assists Tasting Room Managers with input of new data (club forms, ship forms, partial data) and can problem solve with staff members

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years experience in the wine industry (required)
  • At least 2 years experience in a hospitality role, restaurant experience a plus
  • Extensive wine knowledge preferred
  • Prior experience in a lead role where you lead and supported a team preferred
  • Ability to lead a diverse team in a positive, supportive way
  • Ability to work flexible schedule (weekends, holidays, etc.)
  • Ability to learn our POS system (AMS)
  • Professionalism in appearance/demeanor
  • Excellent organizational & interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Must have passion for wine and customer service as well as working on a diverse team
  • Experience with TOCK reservation systems a plus
  • Experience with POS System a plus
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in team/crew environment, adherence to all

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  1. Lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  2. Stand on one’s feet for a full shift (6-8 hours)
  3. Exhibit full range of motion while standing, lifting, bending, etc.



Compensation details: 22-24 Hourly Wage
