Master Mechanic

Master Mechanic is responsible for the mechanical maintenance of the Destrehan, LA soybean processing facility, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairment of equipment and instruments. Candidate must actively participate in Bunge s Employee Safety Policy and maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees. Additionally, this role is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site s food safety management system and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.Main AccountabilitiesPredictive and preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, part replacement of plant equipmentLaser alignment, ultrasonic, and lubricationOperating mobile equipment/heavy machineryOperation of various hand tools and power toolsUsing measurement devices, including calipers, pi tapes, micrometersWelding and cutting using a torch: tig, mig, and stick on piping and structuralRigging and using cables and slingsSheet metal layoutsAssembly and installation of bearings on shaftsAlignment of coupling between two inputsFollow written instructions for maintenance Other duties as assignedKnowledge & Technical Competencies:Millwright/Mechanic experience, requiredWelding and cutting using a torch, requiredWritten/Verbal communication skills Ability to work in a team environment Ability to work in a highly quality controlled environment Ability to work in a safety conscious environment Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other facility personnel Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED equivalent, preferredAssociates degree and/or technical certification, preferred3 years experience as mechanic or millwright, preferredWork ScheduleOvertime required as part of the normal schedule, call out availability, and an on-call rotationBunge (NYSE: BG) is a world leader in sourcing, processing and supplying oilseed and grain products and ingredients.
