The Warehouse Supervisor - Inventory Control is responsible for leading and controlling activities of branch warehouse personnel.  Ensures receiving and related inventory functions are performed in an effective manner. Monitors work processes and environmental conditions to ensure the safety of all employees.  

Responsibilities:

  • Direct on the floor leadership of the receiving team members and ensure a safe working environment for all
  • Coach and assign work to individual team members
  • Provide a professional environment with relation to fellow team members, other department members and external customers
  • Organize and focus on improved productivity levels in a manner that stresses effectiveness by improving processes as well as the efficiencies of department team members
  • Ensure company policies are communicated, applied and enforced (i.e. operational, safety, administrative, etc.
  • Monitor all cycle count programs and ensure consistency, accuracy, and research all operational problems in inventory.
  • Maintain records of all variances according to established procedures and ensure accuracy of all product transfers from one facility to another.
  • Monitor work of all inventory control personnel and ensure achievement of all objectives and provide continuous improvement initiatives as needed
  • Determine and ensure optimal security of all materials in storage
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of all inventory transactions and ensure all records of all cycle counts are completed
  • Train employees and staff in all inventory control processes according to our procedures and update Bunzl’s processes and procedures if required
  • Manage all inventory transactions and provide required feedback to team on root cause on discrepancies found
  • Run report and post accuracy stats daily for the warehouse, including cycle count accuracy, shipment accuracy, receiving accuracy, and bin scan%

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-3 years experience in previous warehouse supervisor experience required preferably within a unionized work force
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (occasionally between 60-75 lbs) with or without reasonable accommodation for an entire shift)
  • Must be able to work regularly at a height of up to 26 feet above the ground (with provided safety equipment/processes/training)
  • Must be a self starter with the ability to multi task
  • Possess excellent judgment and decision making skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient using the AS400 a plus
  • Possess strong PC skills in Word and Excel
  • Capacity to effectively plan workload and staff assignments

Salary range: $69,000-$75,000 based on geographic location, education and experience.
