Duties and Responsibilities: Support the Program Office's efforts to deliver a range of shipboard networks and systems, including Navigation, HM&E, ECS, and C4I. Provide technical subject matter expertise input for the implementation of shipboard network systems, policies, procedures, and provide advice on network systems design efforts. Apply technical expertise to perform technical and nontechnical system evaluations, network and application security reviews (including RMF), identify gaps in security architecture, recommend risk acceptance, and develop a security risk management plan. Provide key technical input (IAW DoD/DON Issuances, Instructions, Publications, Administrative Instructions and Directive Type Memoranda advice on network systems design efforts) for system implementation and configuration and identify security deficiencies during system reviews and certification testing ensuring successful transition from development to operation. Work as technical team advisor, sharing information, and accepting and providing constructive feedback. Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree with 8-10 years of relevant experience in designing and/or evaluating network systems. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for 15 years or more of proven relevant experience involving designing, evaluating, and testing network systems. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data. Possess familiarity of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), formerly known as Open Systems Architecture or Open Systems Approach, as a technical and business strategy for designing an affordable and adaptable system. Possess expert knowledge of analytical techniques and have ability to adapt study and analytical methods and techniques, interpret findings, and make recommendations. 10% travel required Active Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Relevant U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard experience in the areas of ship construction or ship repair. Relevant Amphibious warship experience. Experience in DoD/Navy ACAT I Programs.
