- Maintaining the mechanical areas, equipment and quality of water in the pools and waterways throughout the facility
- Assist more senior staff in the Utilities Department
- Responsible for the condition of the assigned areas and equipment and will be instructed on the basics of plumbing, plumbing related mechanical equipment, pool and waterway maintenance and the chemical treatment these waters
- Organize, document and perform with minimal supervision after having completed the training and becoming familiar with the facility
- Use colour comparator test equipment, results and understand the automated chemical controls system and its components
- Assist with training of junior team members
- May be required to read flow meters, gauges, other recording devises, monitor/ inspect plant equipment/systems for normal operation
- May collect, test and analyze water samples for chemical and bacterial analysis
- Assist with other duties as required

Qualifications:
- You!
- Candidates that are enrolled in or graduate of a Plumbing, Environmental/Chemical Engineering post-secondary program or previous experience in plumbing, pool maintenance or chemical treatment
- Individuals with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and good work ethic
- People that work well with other team members and accept direction from more senior staff
- Individuals that are able to use the colour comparator test equipment
- Candidates with a valid Ontario Driver’s license (class G/G2) with a clean abstract
- Individuals that are able to provide their own CSA approved safety footwear
- People that are able to swim as employees may be required to enter the water/pools to clean debris and surfaces
- Availability for rotating shifts starting at 6:00am with a 7 on, 3 off; 7 on, 4 off shift schedule that will cover days, afternoons, on weekends and statutory holidays
- Able to wear personal protective equipment deemed necessary to perform this job safely
