Overview

The First Line Supervisor, also known as the Shift Specialist or Production Specialist will coordinate the assigned Area Operations Shift Team. This Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all production activities are completed in a safe (EH&S Policies and Procedures) and efficient manner within their respective areas. This role will coordinate daily duties with the Celanese Chemical and Process Operator personnel. The Shift Specialist will work closely with the area Day Support team. This person must maximize production to schedule while engaging team members in continuously improving operational performance. This job will provide functional leadership to drive continuous improvement activities in the area.

The Shift Specialist is responsible for a team of 10 employees.

The role an onsite, in-person position located at: 8480 DuPont Road, Washington, WV 26101

The first line supervisor will work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.

  • Shift Transitions 24/7, Plan, Schedule, Permit
  • Operator Annual Reviews (Input)
  • Raw Material Ordering (Expediting / Trailer Issues / Logistical Scheduling)
  • OT Planning / Calling
  • Manage Unscheduled Operator Absences
  • Emergency Response (ECO, Incidents, AD, Fire Brigade)
  • Shift Turnover (Linewalk, Lead SQRE meetings)
  • Functional Guidance for Operations Contractors
  • Advanced Troubleshooting
  • Monthly Safety Meetings
  • Attend Maintenance Planning / Scheduling Meeting
  • Early reporting of Pain / Fit for duty discussions with Operators
  • Shift Maintenance Management
  • Coordination of Utilities/Waste Management with Chemours
  • Shift Performance Reporting (DI, Logs, Env reports, etc)
  • Celanese - Vessel Entry / Process Interlock Bypass /Hot Work Permit
  • Contractor - Vessel Entry / Process Interlock Bypass /Hot Work Permit

Working Conditions
  • Role will be required to be familiar with all site procedures, area procedures, and general knowledge of process safety requirements in respective areas. Daily safety engagement will be required.

Equipment, Tools, and Operating Aids
  • Interfaces with Production, Technical, Reliability Engineering, Contracting and Maintenance personnel to ensure that the manufacturing operation can meet the production schedule
  • Responsible and accountable for safety of self and others working in the operations area and for the environment.
  • Responsible to ensure that the work environment is maintained in accordance with all people treatment guidelines.
  • Leads the safe execution of the production schedule. Ensures priorities for production/maintenance and repair functions are followed within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Assist in implementation of manufacturing best practices across operations.
  • Responsible for on time performance of production schedule.
  • Assures all paperwork is completed and assigned in compliance with all existing procedures and regulations.
  • Ensures personnel follow and practice good safety habits and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

• High School Diploma or GED

• 7+ years in Industrial / Manufacturing Industry

• 3+ years Proven/Demonstrated Leadership

• Computer Skills - MS Office Suite including Power Apps

• Experience using SharePoint

• Multi-Tasking skills and experience

• Lean Manufacturing experience

PREFERRED

• Experience working in Chemical Manufacturing

• Experience handling High Hazard situations, with a full understanding of the process

• SAP experience (plant maintenance/ERP software)

• Black Belt or Green Belt - project experience or knowledge

• 5S Projects - experience

• SIS trained Safe Work Permit Trained - Including Life Critical
