Occupational Health Nurses As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen. Occupational Health Nurses will provide full-time support to The Department of Homeland Security in relation to carrying out its mission and goals. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Occupational Health Nurses: $100,000 - $130,000 Pay commensurate with experience. Occupational Health Nurses Responsibilities Include: * Assists relative to activities that arise within FEMA authority, including, but not limited to, research, analysis, and/or development of systemwide standards, policies, procedures, and training. * Conducts reviews of FEMA policies, to include but not limited to, assessments of FEMA policies, discussion of FEMA policies, practices and any other relevant information that may arise. * Provides training, and other activities such as projects related to DHS policy mission. * Participates in work groups, assisting with developing and/or presenting briefings, and preparing documents. The contractor personnel shall provide guidance, whether planned or ad hoc, by telephone, email, formal report. * Performs all the administrative duties associated with the field of workforce health and safety. * Produces a detail, thorough, and effective reports summarizing their findings, conclusions, and recommendations. * Develops, integrates, monitors, and sustains occupational health policy that impact health and safety by participating in a multi-disciplinary approach for program management. * Develops measures to evaluate the effectiveness of current Occupational Health programs/services. * Assists with reviews, interprets, and analyzes occupational health legislations, regulations and program services to ensure organizational compliance. * Assists with the feasibility of operationalizing new and/or revised programs/services by establishing assessment criteria for existing programs in conjunction with current federal, state and local regulations, medical standards and theories. * Assists with the day-to-day operations of occupational health and safety services including initiating, coordinating, operational, personnel, policies and procedures. * Assists with writing medical policies related to occupational health and safety of exposed hazardous conditions in workplace not limited to HIV, TB, Hep B, MMR, COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. * Assists with providing support to FEMA employees, and contractors on occupational health and safety issues dealing regulations not limited to Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), OSHA, and local, state and federal government. * Assists with coordinating all levels of employees to identify and mitigate occupational health hazards and reduce injuries among FEMA workforce. * Maintains a monthly activity log. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Occupational Health Nurses Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: * Bachelor's degree in nursing. * Familiarity with case management, worker's compensation, medical standards, and OSHA regulations. * Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN), Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist (COHN-S), or Case Management (CM). * Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license. * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. * 2 years' experience in occupational medicine. * Strong experience and proficiency with computer databases and systems such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint. * Ability to work independently with high motivation. * Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
