Schedule Information
- # of Beds: 34.
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, 1:4 PCU.
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Peds >15 years old, Neuro surgery, Respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, general surgery, psych/OD, GI bleeds, cancer specific surgeries.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes.
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Yes.
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Yes.
- RT Equipment: RNs need to be able to manage from nasal cannula to vents.
- No Tele/Monitor Techs: RNs need to be able to read and interpret Draeger heart monitoring. Centralized telemetry monitoring available.
- Floating Requirements: Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU.
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue.
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 2 shifts.
Unit Specific Information
- Fast paced unit with volume flexes due to being primary tertiary hospital for the system.
- Attributes that will make a nurse successful on this unit include the ability ask questions, a positive attitude, willingness to help others, critical thinking skills, personable, and a positive attitude.
- Have a team environment meant to foster high quality care, and work with attendings and student providers (fellows, residents) to collaborate on care.
- Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
