- Registered Nurse needed for ER position at Children's Wisconsin - Milwaukee Campus
- Start Date: flexible with 9/30 or 10/7 options
- Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 36
- Shift Requirements: 12-hour nights
- Primary Location: Children’s Wisconsin Milwaukee
- Work may include exposure to temperature extremes, crowded workspace, noxious odors, or high noise level
- Care for pediatric emergency department patients, including assessment, medication administration, teaching, wound care, EKG, obtaining vs, providing mental and behavior health care, etc.
Job Details
- Previous Emergency Department experience required
- Experience with pediatrics required
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- 1 previous completed travel assignment required
- Charting: EPIC is highly preferred
- Provides nursing care in a setting where there is potential for exposure to blood and other high-risk body fluids, communicable disease and hazardous materials, chemicals and waste
Job Requirements
- 12-hour night shifts
- Weekend Rotation: 2 weekends per month
- Holiday Rotation: rotate every other
Schedule Information
- Unit Details: Majority of cases are low acuity, but also see high acuity; currently seeing 200-280 visits/day
- ED techs and nurses on-site; the department is split up into different areas
- Scrub Colors: Any professional scrubs
Unit Specific Information
- Float Requirements: Float to other units as necessary
- On Call/Call Back Requirements: N/A
- Education: ADN
- Minimum Experience: 1-2 years
- Unit Info: ED techs and nurses present, with ideally 18 nurses on peak time and 6 care partners (CNAs/Techs)
