Christiana Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses for the Operating Room team. The role includes a 26-week paid OR Fellowship program with rotations in surgical specialties and perioperative courses to prepare for independent work as an OR RN.

Nurse Operating Room Fellowship – The anticipated start date will be October 14, 2024.

We are seeking an RN for our growing operating room team. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, eager to learn, and passionate about delivering outstanding clinical outcomes and compassionate care to patients and families.

Shift Requirements:

Full-time/Flex (36 hours weekly) - Day, mid-shift (11:00 am-7:30 pm) once orientation is completed with occasional Evening and Midnight Shift hours as the need arises. Weekends, Holidays, and On-Call shifts – per the department guidelines.

The majority of the 6-month orientation period will be from 7:00 am-3:30 pm.

Fellowship/Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a 26-week fellowship program focusing on various surgical specialties.

  • Provide detailed patient care in the operating room setting.

  • Collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient outcomes.

  • Adhere strictly to all safety and regulatory guidelines.

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of operating room environments.

  • Showcase excellent communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and team members.

Job Requirements:

  • BSN Preferred.

  • Commitment to acquiring a BSN within three years of the date of hire can be considered with proven experience.

  • Must meet one of the following:

Two years experience as an RN (Prefer Med/Surg or Stepdown experience).

1. Or at least two years experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist and successful completion of an RN program.

BLS required:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Commitment to work following completion of the fellowship.
