DescriptionAVP Duck Creek Principal Engineer Be a part of the Digital transformation team.  Bring your ideas to the table – and make an immediate impact on how insurance is purchased.  Help build out capabilities that will drive business decisions.  Play a critical role in building out the infrastructure on how we do business tomorrow.  Work with cutting edge technologies and be on forefront of Chubb’s Small Commercial Product Development.The ‘AVP DuckCreek Principal Engineer’ will be responsible to provide technical leadership on end-to-end development & delivery of new insurance products & capabilities enabling new business opportunities and operational efficiencies on Duck Creek Policy Underwriting & Admin Platform utilizing SAFe Agile.  This role is also responsible for all integrations and interfaces upstream as well as downstream supporting business objectives. This role will require the candidate to lead a large portfolio of globally distributed developer teams to deliver products and services in the most efficient way possible.This role requires knowledge of the Duck Creek platform, strong delivery background, design thinking, thought leadership, change orientation, seamless execution, strong relationship management and effective communication capabilities.Scope/ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end development and implementation of new insurance products, packages on Chubb’s Duck Creek Platform.Partner with Product, BA, PMO and enterprise teams to define and deliver optimum application and solution architecture to meet current and future underwriting and policy admin platform needs.Lead business case development, large program/project estimations with resources from multiple departments and shared services from across the Chubb enterprise.  The departments include underwriting, actuary, business operations, field operations, business architecture, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, information security etc.Build internal expertise on Duck Creek Platform working with HR, vendor partners and personal relationships in the industry.Hire college graduates, train them on necessary tools and processes to enable the next generation workforce to become self-sufficient w.r.t Duck Creek PlatformCommunicate regularly in accordance with agreed upon communications plan.Prepare and deliver formal presentations on project and status for business and technology leadership. Manage agile-based operating model across multiple Scrum teams.Manage and deliver development projects within the allocated budget partnering with finance to ensure appropriate accounting treatment of costs.Keep on top of Duck Creek Technology Product Roadmap and the industry trends including Digital Transformation, InsureTech, AI/Machine Learning etc.Location:This position is primarily located in Whitehouse Station, NJ or Jersey City, NJ but requires travel to other Chubb office locations on an as needed basis.QualificationsSkills, Knowledge, and Experience:Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field.  At least 10 years of experience in managing multiple, concurrent medium to large cross-functional teams or programs.At least 8 years with insurance background required; experience in Commercial lines platform/systems implementation of Duck Creek Policy is preferredDeep knowledge of commercial and specialty insurance products and operational processes is required; expertise in assessing internal and external data needs to meet underwriting guidelines is requiredExperience in enabling agile transformation/implementation in medium to large projects/programs is required.Experience in technology stack such as Microsoft.Net, Java, ASP.NET, IIS, SQL Server, HTML, XML, CSS, XSLT etc.Good knowledge of Data & Analytics technologies such as Data Lakes, Business Intelligence Tools, Predictive Models, 3rd Party Data.Good knowledge of Microservices & API Mgmt., Java Script Frameworks such as Angular, Cloud Platforms such as Microsoft Azure is preferred.Ability to motivate team members and effectively delegate responsibilities to ensure timely delivery.                                                                                                                             Strong vendor management and vendor relationships experience to continuously understand how the tooling and services marketplace will evolve.Strong analytical skills and influence skills to achieve results.Excellent written/verbal/presentation skills; The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
