Job Summary:

Senior Network Engineer manages and maintains the enterprise network and handles advanced support issues. Senior Network Engineer is responsible for mentoring junior network staff and will be responsible for the functional management of the network, the delegation of tasks, and the resolution of network issues. Senior Network Engineer will have extensive experience working with enterprise networks, and advanced project management skills. Senior Network Engineer ensures the networking team performs as a cohesive unit, maintaining the stability and performance of the network.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
  • Configure and install switches, routers, WAP, and other network devices
  • Monitor network performance and integrity
  • Create, oversee, and test security measures
  • Leads in the configuration of firewall security settings and access permissions
  • Maintain complete technical documentation
  • Conduct regular network performance tests
  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five (5) years’ experience as Senior Network Engineer or Network Administrator
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CCNP, CCDP)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass the Sandy Springs Police department background check
  • Extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures

Skills Needed

  • Advanced knowledge of network operating systems (including Cisco IOS, ISE, and Meraki)
  • Previous experience with Cisco and Meraki network hardware required
  • Experienced with network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and network access control list (ACL)
  • Proven network engineering, network operations, and network performance analysis skills
  • Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Selfmotivated, able to work independently, and takes initiative

Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position. The Senior Network Engineer hours Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm with telework opportunities anticipated after training. Additional hours may be required to support Emergency Operations and on-site maintenance.
