TS SCI OPTICAL NETWORK SOLUTIONS ENGINEER WITH SECURITY CLEARANCE

Our client, a telecommunications company, is in need ofa TS SCI, Optical Solutions Engineer for a full-time opportunity working on sitein Herndon, VA. This individual will be working with customers and stakeholders to understand customer needs and design a plan to best support their infrastructure. They will be the main point of contact between our client and the end customer and should be comfortable communicating with key stakeholders. This individual will need to understand Carrier Ethernet architecture, provisioning, and implementation. They will be developing test plans for the customers network architecture, interoperability, and security of systems then making recommendations based on those tests to implement the Ciena product line. They will support the deployment of said enhancements in Layer-0, Layer 1 and Layer-2 process configurations. Required Skills: * TS SCI level clearance (FSP is a major bonus but not required) * Must be comfortable interfacing with key stakeholders * Ability to go onsite daily in Herndon, VA * SME level knowledge in the optical networking space * Strong knowledge and experience with Layer-0, Layer-1, Layer-2, BGP, MPLS, L3VPN, ISIS * Experience with Ciena products is preferred, but Juniper or Cisco experience in the optical space would be a substitute * Ability to provide tier 3 and 4 support around any troubleshooting, installation or implementation needs for the customer * Strong understanding of SONET, DWDM, ROADM (and other OADM configurations) architecture and provisioning and implementation * Comfortable with up to 25% travel Preferred or Nice to Have Skills: * Project+ or Scrum Master Certification * Any networking certifications are a plus
