Position: Medical Office Receptionist



Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time



Shift: Monday - Friday Days



Rate of Pay: $15.00 - $19.50 per hour



Exempt/Non-Exempt :Non-Exempt

The Receptionist acknowledges and greets patients and visitors in a professional manner as they approach the desk. Responsible to review and update all demographic/insurance information as well as collect co-pays and balances as needed and enters payment into patient account. The Receptionist balances the cash drawer at the end of shift. The position will also be responsible to work in the call center and answer telephone calls in a prompt and professional manner and route calls appropriately, taking accurate and complete phone messages when necessary. Schedules, cancels, or reschedules appointments when necessary. Responsible to recognize, label, and route documentation to the correct provider and location within the Electronic Medical Record. Perform a variety of clerical duties including preparing mailings, filing, faxing, scanning and photocopying.



Education/Experience:



High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; one to two years of college preferred. One to three years previous experience as a medical receptionist preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Computer proficiency including word processing and data entry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks and details simultaneously. Ability to work productively in a fast paced, stressful environment. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.



Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, patients, coworkers, management, and any other external customers. Knowledge of medical insurances and various policies/requirements necessary to obtain verifications. Experience in the management of a multi-line phone system.
