Job Description: Responsible for the effective implementation of staff orientation and education. Provides instruction to OR staff via in-service programs and on an individual basis. Under the supervision of Nurse Management is responsible for educating staff on new equipment and annual equipment check offs.

Qualifications:

RN license from NC or compact state.
BSN or ADN with the understanding that enrollment in a BSN program within 12 months is required and completion of the BSN must occur within 2 years of hire.
Surgical Service Educator certification within 2 years of being role as Nurse Educator.

Preferred: Knowledge in use of operating room instruments, equipment, and procedures.

Experience: 5 years of clinical experience and/or 5 years of progressively responsible nursing experience relative to the designated clinical services. Working knowledge and familiarity with major OR equipment. Demonstrated knowledge in use of operating room instruments, equipment, and procedures preferred.
