Job title: Project Manager III Department: Product Systems Management Reports to: Senior Director, Programs FLSA Status: Full-time Location: Orlando, FL (On-site) Last modified: 9/3/2024 Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead and oversee production contracts within the defense industry, focusing on both domestic and international government agencies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management, including knowledge of earned value management (EVM), estimates at complete (EAC), project scheduling, export compliance, revenue forecasting, and cross-functional facilitation. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Execution: Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets. Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle from initiation to delivery, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and client expectations.
Proposal Basis of Estimates – Ability to input basis of estimates and build a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for pricing both FFP and CostPlus Proposals. Earned Value Management (EVM): Utilize EVM techniques to monitor project performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure that project performance metrics are consistently met.
Estimates at Complete (EAC): Prepare and manage EACs, ensuring that project forecasts are accurate and reflect the current status of the project. Review and validate cost estimates and projections.
Project Scheduling: Create and maintain project schedules, including Gantt charts and critical path analysis. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
Export Compliance: Ensure that all project activities comply with relevant export regulations and standards. Manage export licenses, documentation, and compliance audits as required.
Revenue Forecasting: Monitor project financials, including revenue recognition and forecasting. Prepare financial reports and analyses to support strategic decision-making.
Cross-Functional Facilitation: Act as a liaison between different departments (engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality assurance, etc.) to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Facilitate problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Customer Interaction: Maintain strong relationships with customers through weekly status calls and program updates. Risk Management: Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage potential issues that could impact project success.
Documentation & Reporting: Ensure thorough documentation of project activities, decisions, and changes. Prepare and present regular status reports to stakeholders and senior management.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the defense industry, with a focus on production contracts. Experience working with domestic and international government agencies is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in earned value management and estimates at complete.
Strong knowledge of project scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project)
Familiarity with export compliance regulations and processes.
Experience in revenue forecasting and financial management.
