The primary function of this full-time position will be to assist the machining, welding and FSW staff with processing of prototype builds and limited production runs of mechanical/electrical systems. The individual will coordinate acquisition of mechanical and electrical materials and hardware for in-house fabrication and assembly. The candidate will serve as the primary interface between CTC and external manufacturing/fabricating vendors and be responsible for overseeing and coordinating subcontractors/vendors providing machined and/or welded components, castings, forgings, extrusions, coatings and components from other common manufacturing processes. Basic Qualifications:
The candidate should possess a B.S. in a related engineering discipline and 0-2 years’ experience in mechanical/electrical system development and fabrication.
The ideal candidate for this position must have significant experience in a broad range of manufacturing disciplines related to fabrication, machining and assembly. This person should also have direct experience building within a prototype environment where advanced systems are developed. This individual should also have the skills to review concepts and provide input to designers to improve manufacturability from a cost, schedule and system performance standpoint. Direct experience working in a shop environment and communicating engineering requirements to manufacturing personnel is desired. The individual must be able to build a strong working relationship with and coordinate multiple subcontractors and internal staff while being firm on cost, schedule and quality. The individual must be flexible to change driven by clients or design staff during the build process and provide feedback on impacts to cost and schedule. The individual must have the ability to work multiple projects at one time. The individual must be capable of working from either prints, sketches or electronic models. Candidate should have direct experience with CAD systems including Pro/Engineer (Creo), CATIA, Solid Works or AutoCAD. Familiarity with ISO and/or AS9100 quality management systems is a bonus. Preferred Qualifications:
