The Systems Engineer:
Is responsible for the infrastructure design, provisioning, and operations & maintenance of the systems that provide eDiscovery and data preservation services. Platforms such as Veritas eDiscovery Platform (Clearwell), Relativity, Veritas Enterprise Vault, Veritas Enterprise Vault Discovery Accelerator, and tools within the eDiscovery IT Portfolio.
Provide system engineering and administrative tasks on physical and virtualized servers
Provision systems in geographically separated data centers
Develop and maintain best practices for continuity of operations of these systems.
Participate in technical reviews and feasibility study during market research in support of program mission objectives.
Develop technical training, standard operating procedures, and protocols for best practice.
Perform system and user administration, process system access request, and provide system utilization dashboards.
Ensure high availability of the systems within the eDiscovery IT Portfolio.
Participate in working groups to identify innovative approaches to leverage technology in support of repeatable and defensible eDiscovery workflows.
Provide Tier 2 support to review analyze and responses to incidents.
Provide Tier 3 technical support and escalation as necessary.
Provision and maintain storage requests.
Plan and execute data migrations and decommission tasks.
Monitor failed system components and coordinate vendor and intra-agency support.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Sound understanding of accompanying enterprise services, such as MS365, shared data repositories, and messaging services such as SMS, MMS, and Lync/ Skype
Manage data backup and recovery.
Monitor capacity, assessing resources, and planning for scale as service demands or organization needs change.
Understanding of browser-based applications and server-side services and tools.
Support security assessments and other activities to obtain and maintain authorization to operate. What You Will Need:
An ACTIVE and CURRENT TOP SECRET federal security clearance
At least 4 years of systems engineer/administrator experience; and 2 years of previous experience in architect and design of complex high available systems.
Possess at least 3 years of experience supporting eDiscovery Review and Analysis platforms such as Veritas eDiscovery Platform, Relativity, Enterprise Vault, or equivalent.
Experience as systems administrator supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019 in large physical and virtual infrastructures.
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and network architecture.
Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly to translate legal requirements to technical requirements. What Would Be Nice To Have:
Knowledge of VMWare administration and tools.
Strong understanding of virtualization concepts, deploying systems and payloads to AWS or Azure is a plus.
Working knowledge of Enterprise IT systems, such as MS Exchange, Enterprise Vault, file servers, and SharePoint.
Ability to work independently with high level of initiative and excellent troubleshooting skills, while maintaining and fostering collaboration across the team and enterprise stakeholders.
Demonstrated understanding of Continuity of Operations (COOP) and disaster recovery strategies.
Ability to research and recommend innovative system design to build effective and efficient processes that meet and grow with the mission.
Strong skills analyzing and resolving tier 2 and tier 3 customer support; ability to train end-users on the best practices and use of supported platforms.
Strong understanding of scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Perl, or Python. Strong communication skills and abilities to participate in technical meetings to review, provide education, and support program objectives.
Demonstrated experience with ESI collection tools and/or eDiscovery Platforms (Clearwell, Relativity or equivalent) to facilitate Identification, Analysis and Production of ESI in support of civil and/or criminal matters.
Familiarity with end-to-end lifecycle management of litigation support matters.
