The Network Administrator will be responsible for the management/ maintenance/ upkeep and connectivity of wired and wireless networks supporting the Navy.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Job duties include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.) Provide the day-to-day management of active networks. Must be willing to provide on call coverage beyond normal working hours. This is not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays. Must ensure all computers used for network monitoring and configuration receive most current patches and software upgrades. Configure network components in accordance with accepted internal and industry standards. Verify operation of configured items. Establishes the alarm thresholds, method of notification and any other parameters deemed appropriate for network monitoring. Must be able to develop and document processes for monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration of networks and network devices. De-install or reinstall hardware and perform preventative maintenance on hardware Work with base managers to support the program along with Tier III engineers. Maintain base access and credentials for accessing sensitive locations. Provide reporting on ticketing, status and inventory as requested. Forecasting maintenance and working with all navy clients to minimize system outages and downtime. Travel required to accomplish all duties and responsibilities. * Must be able to certify in using Articulating Man Lift and be comfortable installing, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment from this platform.
