Title: Principal Control Engineer (specializing in solution filling)
Location: Marion, NC

1. Scope Summary:
Client is undergoing modernization and digitization efforts at their manufacturing facility located in Marion, North Carolina. The project Scope includes qualification of required automated manufacturing, laboratory, computerized systems, Critical Systems, and packaging equipment.

Project tasks:
1) Collaborate with manufacturing and cross-functional team to understand equipment need to generate equipment upgrade / new equipment URS
2) Collaborate with cross-functional team and manufacturer to generate design documents for equipment upgrade / new equipment (i.e., functional design specifications, hardware design specifications, software design specifications, electrical / control drawings)
3) Perform Site Acceptance Testing at Client facility (includes I/O checks, process checks, hardware review, software review).
4) Perform Installation + Commissioning/Qualification protocol execution (including Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification, Process Qualification) in collaboration with cross-functional team during Planned Shutdown periods (first 1-2 weeks of July + last 1-2 weeks of December)
5) Update/Generate internal Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures for equipment upgrades / new equipment for manufacturing use.
6) Update/Generate troubleshooting guides for Engineering and Maintenance personnel for equipment upgrades / new equipment.
7) Perform technical trouble shooting and implement problem resolution for existing and new equipment/systems.
8) Develops or participates in the development of solutions to problems specific to assigned project.
9) Perform engineering studies on new equipment to determine proper settings, control points, etc. including data gathering during start up and test batches.
10) Performs work assignments within production department that include training and technical support.
11) Work with equipment controlled with Allen-Bradley Control Logix, AB500, Safety PLCs (new and legacy systems). Including ability to review and program using Ladder Logic.
12) Work with equipment controlled with Allen-Bradley HMIs (new and legacy systems).
13) Program or train Fanuc / Yaskawa / Staubli robots.
14) Configure and Program Cognex / Keyence / Datalogix vision systems.
15) Work in manufacturing facility focused on at least one of the following automated processes:
(a) Solution filling (includes thermal printing on plastic liner/container, container handling, solution filling through nozzle, volume measurement)
