They pride themselves on their collaborative environment and are seeking a highly skilled Full Charge Bookkeeper/Controller to manage full-cycle accounting processes and support their growing business.
Job Description:
As the Full-Charge Bookkeeper/Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial health of the company. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, handling HR functions, and providing critical financial insights to leadership. This position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong QuickBooks Desktop experience and 3-4+ years of comprehensive accounting and HR management experience in a small business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts for management and ownership.
- Maintain and update accounting records in QuickBooks Desktop.
- Ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations (tax filings, payroll tax compliance, etc.).
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.
- Prepare and process payroll, including tax filings and benefit administration.
- Oversee HR functions, including employee onboarding, benefits management, and general HR support.
- Manage cash flow, track budgets, and work with leadership on financial strategy.
- Develop and maintain efficient systems for accounting processes and reporting.
- Act as the point of contact for external accountants, auditors, and tax preparers.
Qualifications:
- 3-4+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, ideally in a small business or manufacturing/distribution environment.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop.
- Experience with payroll, HR management, and benefits administration.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with manufacturing or distribution accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of HR software and tools (preferably Gusto).
