Garelick Farms, Dairy Farmer of America, is excited to announce an opening for a Driver Class A.We offer excellent benefits and competitive pay with great growth opportunities!External Candidate -$1,500.00 sign-on bonus. GENERAL PURPOSEOperate a straight truck, tractor-trailer, or double trailer. Deliver products or assets in a safe and timely manner tocustomers, warehouses, distributors, etc., according to the delivery route schedule as determined by the supervisor.Demonstrate high standards of customer service. Communicate frequently with peers, supervisors, and others.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations and policies adheringto all safety practices• Deliver products or assets according to route schedule and customer delivery expectations (e.g., put deliveriesinside coolers and walk-ins) in a safe and timely manner. Follow designated routes and schedules unlessotherwise directed by supervisory personnel• Report delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents or breakdowns• Based on route design, load and unload product as required at designated stops (2-wheel cart and/or palletjacket); may include stocking and ordering of product (varies from route to route)• Communicate effectively and maintain good relations with customers and report any problems to the driversupervisor or manager• Ensure and/or perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment used (tires, fuel, oil check,etc.) and maintain a clean vehicle• Complete all daily paperwork fully and correctly each day. Maintain all log and trip records according tocompany policy and DOT guidelines• Perform load inventory and document condition of freight before departure• Attend all driver workshops and training sessions• Use company supported applications or systems properly• Represent DFA positively and professionally at all times during interactions with customers or other individuals• The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee,but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
