Maintenance Technician

 Our client, a global seed technology company, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team in Gilroy, CA. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for equipment maintenance and repair, including preventative maintenance, electrical, mechanical, and facilities repairs, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work area. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician demonstrates the ability to meet productivity demands in a fast-paced, adaptive work environment.RESPONSIBILITIES:Record repairs required, parts used, and labor time in CMMS systemInstall, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring; inspect, test, and diagnose issues with systems and componentsPerform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and componentsExecute preventive maintenance plans safely and efficientlyPerform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standardsComplete required documentation of repairs and service informationCalibrate equipment to provided specificationsSupport Manager with collating purchase orders and purchase requisitions as a means to order materials, parts, and suppliesProcess parts and labor requests by using eForms and other company-directed software applicationsInspect and test equipment to locate damaged or worn parts and diagnose malfunctions, by referencing schematic drawings and mechanical drawings to determine required repairsDisassemble defective devices and assembliesRebuild defective devices and assemblies, arrange third party to do so when applicableReassemble repaired devices and assembliesMeasure velocity, amperage, and voltage of units or parts to diagnose problems, using ammeters, voltmeters, watt/meters, and other testing devicesObserve gauges, dials, or other indicators to verify machine and process functionalityConduct root cause analysis to identify issues and prevent recurrenceBuild, assemble, install and maintain parts, equipment and machinery as required DESIRED PROFILE:Background knowledge in high paced production manufacturing and/or seed processingExperience in an industrial maintenance positionCreative problem-solving skillsHigh organizational and strong planning skillsAbility to work independentlyCooperative and willing to assist othersAble to stand for long periods of time in hot, cold, dusty and noisy conditionsAble to lift 50 lbs. of miscellaneous itemsAble to stand and walk all dayAble to be trained and fitted with appropriate equipment to work with equipment and chemicals (respiratory mask may require removal of facial hair) QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalentInterested in this Opportunity? Submit an Application Package by clicking on APPLY TO THIS POSITION.
