Duties * Serve as a project management consultant providing project management and systems support and analysis to a wide range of projects. * Provides continuous monitoring and reporting on the performance and overall health of the Directorate portfolio for financial reporting. * Ensures successful project management principles are being effectively applied by independently interpreting regulations, applying new project management methods to meet complex business requirements and resolving conflicts and issues as they arise. * Provides skilled technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management on critical IT matters impacting the Directorate portfolio. * From a financial management perspective, supports DFAS leadership in the assessment of complex IT projects and information management issues. * Researches, analyzes, and identified opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial systems. Specialized experience is defined as: Assisting in automated design and processing principles, techniques, policies and regulations related to finance and accounting operations or systems; assisting/participating in projects related to finance or accounting operations or systems. For Entry at the GS-12 grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the federal service performing complex data analysis and evaluation of financial systems, policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure the continuity of a financial system's operations. Specialized experience is defined as: Conducting improvement initiatives for automated financial systems design and processing to include identifying, documenting and recommending financial system requirements; applying new regulatory requirements and advising on financial system policies and procedures; AND participating in projects related to finance or accounting operations or systems; performing analysis and evaluations to prepare status reports on financial projects.
