Duties The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position, in conjunction with the Production Superintendent (Pro Super), to assign priorities to aircraft production efforts, to direct action to resolve resource shortages, to maintain liaison among aircraft maintenance management, and to provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein. Responsibilities: 1: Provides both present and projected status information to prescribed managerial personnel. Maintains liaison with the Maintenance Coordinating Function (MCF) of the Command Post. 2. Notes projected completion date, studies actual aircraft status and informs higher levels within chain of command when aircraft is to be mission ready 3: Through use of radio, telephone, intercom, e-mail, personal contact with production supervisors, technicians, review of work documents and statistical listings, determines status of aircraft 4: As daily events occur, maintains MIS data integrity regarding maintenance flying schedule requirements. Conducts training and skill level progression of Air Force Reservists. 5: Accomplishes aircraft debriefing to ensure malfunctions identified by aircrews are properly reported and documented. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the lower grade, GS-07, or equivalents. Specialized experience defined as developing and implementing aircraft maintenance work plans and schedules to ensure the effective and efficient accomplishment of required maintenance and coordination in support of unit operational flight scheduling. FEDERALTIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. Knowledge of and ability to interpret military aircraft and manufacturing terminology, technical orders, data, standards and instructions, and to relate them properly to the particular control projects assigned in preparing production plans and schedules and in maintaining effective follow-up. Knowledge of maintenance organizational structures and skill in the distribution of personnel to obtain a balance of work. 3.Knowledge and skill of appropriate production/technical processes and material posture of maintenance work centers to ensure continuing availability of material requirement. Knowledge of aerospace systems, subsystems, components, and associated inspections, repair, modification, and supply processes. 4. Skill in effective written and oral communication. Knowledge of and skill in the use of automated maintenance information systems (MIS) and aircraft maintenance documentation processes to collect, compile, and correlate production data from a variety of sources and use that data to determine compliance status of scheduled maintenance, inspection, and modification actions. 5. Ability to correlate and analyze a variety of routine production data, technical manuals, and directives to determine applicability. 6.Knowledge of total quality management methodology, tools, and techniques. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies. The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities.
