SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT) WITH SECURITY CLEARANCE

Duties The primary purpose of this position is: This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The purpose of the position is to serve as supervisor of employees engaged in a variety of operations concerning maintenance control functions. DUTIES: 1. Plans and directs activities in accomplishment of functions. 2. Reads and interprets new or revised policies, procedures and regulations emanating from higher authority. 3. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. 4. Participates in discussions, meetings and serves on panels or committees. 5. Exercises continuing responsibility for safety conditions, procedures, and work practices employed within assigned area of responsibility. Examples of specialized experience includes performing a variety of operations concerning maintenance control functions. Ensuring aircraft scheduling and associated logistical support required to maintain the assigned aircraft. Manages safety procedures and ensures safe work practices are utilized. O R EDUCATION: Must have 1 full year of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. FEDERALTIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1 Ability to plan, schedule, and take corrective action to meet emergency and regular work load requirements. Ability to correlate and analyze a variety of routine production data, technical manuals, and directives to determine applicability 2. Knowledge of assigned equipment and safety regulations. Knowledge of and ability to interpret military aircraft and manufacturing terminology, technical orders, data, standards and instructions, and to relate them properly to the particular control projects assigned in preparing production plans and schedules and in maintaining effective follow-up. 3. Knowledge of maintenance organizational structures and skill in the distribution of personnel to obtain a balance of work. Knowledge and skill of appropriate production/technical processes and material posture of maintenance work centers to ensure continuing availability of material requirement. 4. Knowledge of aerospace systems, subsystems, components, and associated inspections, repair, modification, and supply processes. Knowledge of total quality management methodology, tools, and techniques. Knowledge of personnel management, personnel instructions, timekeeping, and ability to manage and supervise employees. 5. Skill in effective written and oral communication. 6. Knowledge of and skill in the use of automated maintenance information systems (MIS) and aircraft maintenance documentation processes to collect, compile, and correlate production data from a variety of sources and use that data to determine compliance status of scheduled maintenance, inspection, and modification actions. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: 1. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. The incumbent's primary responsibilities are ART duties 2. The incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. 3. May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. ARTs are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay.
