Duties This position's primary purpose is to perform aircraft electronics mechanic journeyman level duties. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: * Troubleshooting, modifying, repairing, and performing final functional and operational testing of complex electronic systems, components, and accessories, such as communication, navigation, radar, indication and IFF. * Manufacturing a variety of aircraft specific or specialized breakout boxes and panels to facilitate testing and troubleshooting of electronic systems. * Performing set up and operating computerized automated test equipment to run established and new diagnostic programs. * Possessing basic understanding of cryptographic equipment and COMSEC security procedures. * Interpreting complex drawings, specifications, and schematics of complete systems.
