Duties The incumbent will serve as a Security Specialist, responsible for preparing and validating plans for the effective and efficient response to all port safety and security contingencies for which the Coast Guard and community will respond. Typical work assignments include: * Developing and managing port, vessel, and facility security contingency plans and appropriate annexes. * Interpreting agency guidelines and develops and issues facility policy and instructions on for implementation of port safety and security program initiatives. * Coordinating with the Area Maritime Security Committee or subcommittees thereof, and District and Area Planning agents to establish the proper level of participation in port security plan development and exercises. * Overseeing and managing developing, maintaining, and supporting military deployments, outloads, and retrograde shipments when PWCS support is provided through the local Port Readiness Subcommittee. * Developing, coordinating, and participating in port, vessel, facility, and security exercises. Qualifications GS-13: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal service.
