Duties As a SUPV IT Spec (PLCYPLN), GS-2210-12, you will coordinate with Department of Defense (DoD), AF, MAJCOMS, National Guard Bureau (NGB), Wing/Base, and other activities to procure, distribute, maintain, and replace requirements for telecommunications and information technology infrastructure. Ensures compliance with applicable ANG, USAF, and MAJCOMS directives, policies, and tasking, for both wartime and peacetime requirements. Identifies funding and other additional requirements to NGB to ensure they are programmed in the next funding cycle. Accountable for directing the information and data integrity of all base and tenant organizations, as well as geographically separated units (GSUs) and all communications and information functions. Provides guidance and direction to the Communications Flight through planning, coordinating, and directing a variety of functions including; maintenance, logistics plans, supply, multimedia, quality control, production control, ground radio, telecommunications, software test analysis, all data centers, technical service centers, help desks, communication networks (voice and data), network control centers, plans and programs, local computer program development and computer systems operations. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of all electronic and optical books and records of the Wing including review of computerized and manual systems, information processing equipment and software, and definition of the strategic direction of all information processing and communication systems and operations. Through subordinate supervisors in the Information Systems function and Information Transport function, directs and supervises staff and production functions affecting very complex high performance equipment with a wide variety of high cost, sophisticated systems. Responsible for all technical support and maintenance activities to include computer and telephone technical support, radio maintenance, secure communications maintenance, and support equipment maintenance. Maintains contact with civilian or military research and development agencies to achieve reliability, maintainability, and supportability of changing and technologically current equipment or systems. Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted Only GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Must have experience directing and organizing technical and administrative specialists, systems analysts, other employees, and subordinate supervisors at an ANG Aviation Wing. Must have experience that involves analytical and evaluative duties associated with computer networks with primary knowledge requirements of the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats, information processing methodology, computer capabilities, processing techniques and information security techniques. Must have experience directing an organization of technical and administrative, other employees and supervisors. Experience being responsible for all aspects of information technology and telecommunications operations and support is required. Must have experience developing coordinated policy and procedures to utilize architectural guidance and architecture management concepts which support the Wing strategic planning, programming, budgeting, system acquisition, and system operation and maintenance processes Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
