Duties * Serves as a Senior Data Scientist and leads teams for the most complex projects and may also serve as a team participant or an independent analyst on professional data science teams. * Applies the rigors of the data science discipline to data analysis in Cyber, Information Technology and economic analyses of complex and potentially controversial major information technology systems and networks. * Responsible for researching and modeling the most complex problems, discovering insights and identifying opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques. * Integrates and prepares large, varied datasets, creates specialized database and computing environments, and communicates results. * Coordinates closely with data stewards, project/program managers, and other IT teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound organizational decisions. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * Three year trial/probationary period may be required. * This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information for the duration of employment. * This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter. * This position has a requirement to lift up to 30 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. * This is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
