Duties As a AUDITOR-TITLE 5, GS-0511-7/9/11, you will recommend solutions of accounting and operational problems utilizing professional accounting and auditing knowledge. Develop position papers and fact sheets that interpret reports and accounting data. Review automated accounting and financial systems and identify the need for changes to enhance system capabilities. Perform a variety of internal review assignments that require ingenuity in applying conventional and advanced techniques in gathering and evaluating pertinent data. Utilize professional accounting and audit skills to maintain oversight for implementing appropriate laws, directives, and regulations of internal control programs and procedures. Study and research background material to gain program information and discover leads. Conduct in-briefs with management officials. Perform survey work to identify potential operating problems. Qualifications FOR THE GS-07SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one (1) year experience at the next lower level in the normal line of progression through federal service (GS-05) or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the experience and knowledge of auditing principles and procedures. Experience conducting examinations and tests that used statistical and/or judgmental sampling of financial records and management controls to determine the degree of efficiency and effectiveness, and to determine that financial records were maintained in accordance with applicable regulations.
