Duties The primary purpose of the position is to provide limited technical assistance to Human Resources Specialists within the office and to managers, supervisors, and technicians of the serviced organization for a wide range of human resources matters. Performs work in two or more of the following human resource specialties. May accomplish work through the use of an automated system. (1) Processes a wide range of human resources transactions related to recruitment and placement. (2) Provides technical assistance in the area of recruitment and placement. (3) Advises and provides procedural and technical guidance to managers, supervisors, and applicants on recruitment and placement, qualification requirements, merit promotion procedures, transfers, eligibility determinations, methods of recruitment, and initial employment. (4) Reviews and verifies information on requests for vacancies to determine the nature of the staffing action required and to ensure correctness. Prepares and distributes vacancy announcements. GENERAL EXPERIENCE Must possess experience in clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position with experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 12 months experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures, or laws; a working knowledge of administrative functions; experience performing personnel transactions; and experience working independently and setting priorities with very little supervisory control. NOTE: General and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.
