Duties * You will work with the N6 Assistant Chief of Staff (ACOS) in planning, organizing and overseeing Force Information Warfare, Communications, Afloat C4I, Combat and Weapons systems readiness activities. * You will provide oversight and guidance to subordinate command N6 staffs to identify new C5I system readiness requirements, project management goals, planning and execution, and near and long term budget submissions. * You will provide oversight for Type Commander (TYCOM) Readiness Management System (TRMS) and Casualty Report (CASREP) tracking, Green E Management (CD), Information Warfare, Cryptology and Electronic Warfare systems. * You will maintain oversight on system life cycle management. * You will participate in activities related to the development and operational testing, prioritization, scheduling, and fielding, integration, sustainment, maintenance, repair, and removal of C5I systems aboard naval surface ships. * You will ensure alignment between Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), Navy Modernization Plan (NMP), and acquisition program documentation for ship modernization decision purposes. * You will identify capability gaps in C5I systems, equipment and/or components, and provide recommendations for new, upgraded, or modified systems to appropriate System Command (SYSCOM). * You will prepare and present briefing material, at the Flag/SES level, related to shipboard C5I systems material and operational readiness. * You will identify and present impacts to surface ship manning and training and be able to discuss cost, schedule, technical, and performance issues related to fielding of surface ship C5I systems. * You will participate and assist in the capital planning and departmental budgets with the N6 ACOS and other leads supporting Modernization, IT and Cyber. * You will serve as a Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet lead for influencing and approving actions impacting Surface Force C5I Material and Operational Readiness equities by various stakeholders. * You will administer the implementation of approved C5I material and operational readiness programs and projects. * You will monitor, review and analyze program implementation and make decisions and recommendations for program adjustments to meet local conditions and changing situations, as well as to accommodate programs directed from higher echelons. * You will evaluate, propose revisions to, concur upon, and implement SYSCOM-produced operating, maintenance and casualty procedures for deployed C5I systems/equipment. * You will formulate and direct studies, analysis, and other projects in support of improved maintenance and repair initiatives for C5I systems. * You will exercise program responsibility for the formulation, development, preparation, presentation, and administration of C5I Material and Operating Readiness objectives, policies, programs, plans and projects. * You will develop all annual and long-range C5I Material and Operational Readiness budget requirements. * You will develop, staff and promulgate short and long-range plans and projects involving the definition, design, development, acquisition, integration, operation and maintenance of new and modified C5I systems. * You will ensure the effective integration of plans, programs and operations encompassing a wide range of C5I systems/functional components. * You will identify requirements, plan for, organize and distribute authorized personnel resources.
